I remember watching golf last year and they were talking about Tiger’s comeback. Now I don’t know what you might think of Tiger because folks tend to either love him or hate him. One thing that did strike me about the conversation was when they mentioned the angle of descent and launch angle and how those numbers had changed over the last few years for Tiger. According to the announcers, those numbers told the story of how Tiger’s game started to deteriorate. They continued on and said the reason why Tiger was having a very good year in 2012 was because the swing plane and launch angle were coming back to the same numbers that he had when he practically ruled week in and week out. So I decided to do a little research on my own to see how launch angle and how using a golf launch monitor might improve my golf game.

When you turn watch golf on TV, you are bound to see the new commercials which now promote drivers, 3 woods, and such where you can change the launch angle. The pro hits a ball some 270 yards with his 3 wood (fairway metal) and the guy using the launch monitor tells him that he had a certain clubhead speed, ball speed, and launch angle. Then he walks over and with a minor click or adjustment the 3 wood now has a different setup. The pro hits the ball again and he has now hit it 280 yards. Makes for a great commercial and you and I say to ourselves, “where can I buy one of those clubs”?

Tip: Before going any further let me state one thing. If you go to a golf store and want to try out some clubs, make sure that you also try a couple of competing brands. If you are not aware, some unscrupulous stores will ramp up the golf simulator. What this means is that if you typically hit a 6 iron 150 yards, you might all of a sudden be hitting this new club 165 yards on the simulator. Do yourself a favor and either bring in your current clubs or test the clubs that you are looking to buy with competing brands at the same time on that same golf simulator. That way your 160 yard Taylormade 6 iron can be compared with a Callaway, Ping, Titleist, etc… The other thing to note is that not all clubs are created equal. So your current 6 iron might have a 33 degree loft while the new club that you are trying out on the simulator has a loft angle of 30 degrees. All things being equal otherwise, you are more likely to hit that 30 degree club further than the 33 degree club.

Lets quickly look at a couple of affordable golf launch monitors.

Swingbyte Golf Training Device

What I like about the Swingbyte is the opportunity to couple it up with your smartphone or tablet. As a new tablet owner, it is a definite plus. The Swingbyte Golf Training Device hooks up similarly to the Medicus Power Meter, just below the grip on your golf club. So I can watch the swing plane and path right on my tablet. How am I doing with that new Moe Norman swing I’m trying out

Club Head Speed

Swing Tempo

Club Face

Club Path

Lie Angle

Club Loft

In general users like this launch monitor. The main negative seems to be with slippage of the device but if necessary you can tape up the Swingbyte and it should not have this issue. All for a price of about $150 retail but you can usually find it for somewhere around $130 on sale here.

Similarly priced is the SwingTIP Wireless Golf Swing Analyzer Package

At a retail price of around $130, SwingTIP has received relatively good reviews and it is very similar to the Swingbyte above. Download the app, hook it up to your driver, woods, or irons just below the grip, swing away, and then look at the data on your android or iOS 5.1 device. All of this in virtually real time. Why is the ball flying to the left? Look at the data.

If you’ve got the time, this is a good interview regarding the SwingTIP Wireless Golf Swing Analyzer. Close to 10 minutes long and not a video but worth listening to.

I have not had the opportunity to try either of these devices as of yet but I am leaning towards the SwingTIP. This is my thought. If you are struggling with your golf game or just want to see feedback on how your swing looks and the numbers that go with your swing, check out one of these golf launch monitors.

Stop Losing Golf Balls Thanks To A Golf Ball Locator

Have you ever heard of a golf ball locator? No, I’m not talking about a buddy you bring along or a dog who finds your errant shots. Golf ball locators can be used on the gof course by beginning as well as veteran golfers who are tired of spending hundreds of dollars each year replacing golf balls that have somehow not ended up down the middle of the fairway.

On the other end of the spectrum, I’m sure you’ve had the occasion of looking for a lost ball for a couple of minutes only to find it almost right in front of your face, just slightly into the rough. At other times a leaf might be hiding the ball or it can be on the other side of the tree that you haven’t checked yet. Let’s face it that golf balls are small enough and sometimes so dirty that they might not be found as easily as we like them too. Then there are the times that we’ve hit a shot 60 yards off that almost goes into the next fairway. In those cases, a golf ball locator can often be your best friend.

So how does a lost ball locator work? Well actually there are a few different types of golf ball locators. One kind has simple technology using a transmitter that finds the ball’s code using receivers. So if you’ve hit your shot out of bounds from the tee, a receiver gets a signal from the ball, it shows you where this golf gadget calculates your ball to be and then you can go and locate it easily and quickly.

Another technology is through something that looks like a pair of sunglasses. Some of these golf ball finding glasses use light which reflects a certain way off the ball to help you find your golf ball while others may dull the surrounding rough while at the same time make your golf ball stand out like a sore thumb. So in effect if you’ve hit the ball into the rough and put on these golf finder glasses, they in theory should be able to help you more readily and quickly find that golf ball.

Some lost golf ball locators are relatively simple and come with a low price tag of around $30 to $40 or so. Heck, I paid nearly that dollar amount for the last dozen golf balls that I purchased. Others are very high tech and may cost in excess of $300. My personal opinion on this is to go with the sunglass type of golf ball locator and see how that works for you but if you are into gadgets, then check out this cool video.

Prazza Golf Ball Finder

In the end, a golf ball finder may cut down on the frustration and sometimes embarrassment a golfer might feel when they’ve not only hit a bad shot but then may have to spend the next few minutes looking for the ball. Between the cost of losing golf balls and losing strokes on the course for the lost ball, my recommendation is to look into the various types of golf ball locators and decide which one might be right for you.

First, let me ask this question. What putter do you use? Why did you choose that particular putter? What do you think about the belly putters?

So my wife decided to buy me a putter for Christmas. The nice thing is that it wouldn’t be a surprise as she took me to the store to try out as many as I liked. The fact is, I gave the hint that I wouldn’t mind a new putter and I
had secretly been trying a few out when I made it into the local golf stores.

I tried out a bunch of different putters and to make a long story short, I chose the Nickent Omen putter. Price was irrelevant because I decided that if the putter I chose was too expensive, I was more than happy to chip in to get the one I wanted.

I am a 5′ tall male, so just about any putter becomes a belly putter to me. I held on to my last putter (a Ping) for approximately 20 years and I guess I was using it as a belly putter before it was fashionable to do so.

Being all of 5′ tall and bending over slightly, it just became natural to anchor the putter to my stomach and then try not to break my wrists (my bad habit) while putting. I can’t say that I was deadly accurate but for a while it was the better part of my golf game.

Standard, Long, And Belly Putter

Anyway, long story short, I started to change out all of my 20 year old clubs in an effort to freshen and liven up my love for the game. I bought one of those Face Forward wedges and thus far I like it and now I have a new Nickent Omen putter. However I have a question for the golfers out there because the first time out on the course with the new putter was tragic. I’m hoping in some way you might be able to relate and offer some guidance by commenting on this post.

I golfed for the first time this year at 7:30am yesterday up here in Illinois. The weather here has been beautiful for March and this was another great day. However the greens were sopping wet and full of dew. I played alone and was just going to get in a quick 9 holes before having to go into work. The rest of my game was decent (still trying to get used to the Face Forward 56 degree wedge and not being able to judge distance too well) but my putting was horrific. I’m sure some of it was me but due to the dew (pun intended), a 12 foot put seemed more like a 25 to 30 foot putt. And the dew wasn’t consistent from hole to hole. So you could end up going to the next green and seeing all the dew but the 5 foot putt rifled 6 feet past the hole. In fact, I 3 putted on 6 out of the 9 holes I played yesterday. Besides crying, how do you handle a situation (the scoring part) where for all intensive purposes seems to be out of your control? I know its not the putter and for the most part I know it is not me, but I am really bummed out about my putting right now.

Taylormade Burner 2.0 Irons Review

A friend of mine asked me to do him a favor and do an iron review covering several of the different model/brands based on my recent research and play. I was more than happy to oblige. Well, lets back up. I played with an old set of Cougar irons (a Ping knockoff) since just after graduating college. In other words, over 20 years. They served me well as most of the time I was so busy in my career that I didn’t have a heck of a lot of time for golf. Still, I usually played low 90′s out on the course with the occasional mid to high 80′s. However over the years I was losing distance big time. My scorecard and handicap was going in the same direction which was the wrong way. I went from blasting 270+ yard drives to averaging right about 200 yards off the tee. My 6 iron went from 160 to about 130 to 135 yards. So, I headed off to Dicks Sporting Goods and later Golf Galaxy and went over to their simulator with a few clubs (drivers and irons) in hand. Namely, Ping, Callaway, and Taylormade. To make things fair with the drivers, I made sure to swing with the same flex shaft and clubs with a loft of 10.5 degrees.

I started out by hitting the Ping G15 clubs and also tried a few of the different types of shafts in regards to flex. For some reason I thought that maybe if I was using a senior flex that I might be able to control the ball better and with the combination that these clubs were much lighter than what I was swinging, I was sure that I would see gains in distance and hopefully consistency of hitting in the fairways. When all was said and done and with guidance from the professional, regular shafts seemed to be the best for me, so I would stick with them throughout the testing. The Ping clubs just didn’t seem to add anything at all to my swing. Meaning, nothing changed in my distance with the clubs. I was hoping to be a Ping fan simply because I used a Ping putter for some 20+ years. Off the record, I now use a Nickent putter. Truth be told, I’m not one for having a set from all the same manufacturer. I just want to play my best.

Next up came the Callaway Diablo Octane Driver and the Callaway Diablo Edge irons. I like the way these clubs felt in my hand. My swing speed and distances increased on each of the clubs that I used over Ping. I was hitting the driver about 210-213 yards off the tee and hit 220 yards on my last drive. I wasn’t trying to over hit these clubs and simply based on the driver alone, I was ready to pull out my wallet. I had a problem getting the 4 iron up in the air but I have that issue with most 3 and 4 irons. The Callaway Diablo Edge Irons were pretty sweet as well but I wasn’t so sure about the price.

Finally I hit the Taylormade Burner 2.0 Irons and Driver. I know that the Rocketballz line had just come out but I don’t see paying full price for something when you can get last years model on sale for a few hundred less. So with the driver in hand, my club head speed increased from an average of 83mph with the Ping G15 to 91mph with the Taylormade Burner Superfast Driver. Drives were now rolling up to 220 yards on a consistent basis with a few getting to 230. Now mind you, the only thing that is changing here is the clubs. I hadn’t done a single thing to improve my swing except for dropping some of the heavier 20+ year clubs for the newer ones. Because of how I hit last time out on the course, my goal was simple. I was looking to add length to my game.

Taylormade Burner Iron Video

My Taylormade Burner 2.0 Irons Review

Here’s the deal. After seeing me hit the Taylormade 2.0 irons much better than any of the previous clubs that I tried, the pro wanted me to check out the Taylormade RocketBallz Irons. No doing. Why you ask? Again. Simply because if I’m buying new, I see no reason to pay double on this years model. Plus I have no problem saying no. But that is just me. You are welcome to check out the Taylormade RocketBallz but as for me, I’m happy with the Taylormade Burner 2.0 Irons. Anyway, I was hitting the Taylormade Burner 2.0 Irons about 6-10 yards further than the irons that are currently in my bag. Beyond that (and I know I still need to straighten out my swing), the shots that I was hitting off-center (I tend to hit on the inside of my clubs) seemed to travel better. Now maybe I would have seen yet increased distance with the RocketBallz model. Just say no. Perhaps what sold me more than anything else with the Taylormade Burner 2.0 irons was that I was getting the ball into the air quicker and continuing higher on a good flight path. As being the guy who is known for hitting line drive shots (worm burners) with the ball rolling 20 plus yards, I like seeing that I have the opportunity to hit the green and stay there with the longer irons.

The bottom line is that I did not have the intention of talking about competing brands in this post. This is after all just one persons review. So I have I purchased the Taylormade Burner 2.0 irons? No…. can you believe it. I always like to contemplate any purchase decision and when I went back, for whatever reason the 2.0 clubs with the cool look had been replaced with a chrome stainless steel look. Now take it from me, purchase the Burner 2.0′s and you should be more than satisfied. What did I end up doing? I stalled the purchase throughout the 2012 season. What? Yeah, I just kept playing with my old irons. What was I thinking?

Update: 12/15/2012 To make a long story short, throughout the 2012 season I spent more time in the simulators and finally ordered the Taylormade Burner Plus irons. Huh? After talking about the Taylormade Burner 2.0′s so much? Yeah. Now I didn’t care so much for the grips but otherwise these clubs felt so much better with my swing. What would have been errant shots seemed to somehow leave the clubhead better. I gained even more distance than my 20+ year old irons and with an even yet higher trajectory. We are talking an average of 10 yards per club! The larger clubface made this golfer feel all the yet more comfortable. Maybe it was a mental thing but it worked for me. Yes, this all was in the simulator but I’ll be looking forward to putting these clubs to the test on the course in the upcoming golf season.

What Are Hybrid Golf Clubs And Why Are They Replacing Irons?

In recent years, hybrid golf clubs have become popular amongst both amateurs and professionals alike. In fact, you will find many PGA tour pro’s with hybrid golf clubs in their bag. You may also hear the term utility club or rescue club to describe a hybrid club depending on the manufacturer.

So what do hybrid golf clubs look like and how should you hit them?

Why Use Hybrid Golf Clubs?
As you can see by the video, long irons can be very difficult to hit just because they have a small degree of loft. Hybrid golf clubs on the other hand will most likely be much easier to hit (especially for the amateur) and give the golf ball a higher trajectory.

Just realize that hybrid golf clubs are not the do all be all that will change you from a 20 handicap to a 10. For many golfers, having effective course management is the number one key to reducing scores. For those that are looking to improve their game, golf gadgets that teach golfers how to keep their swing on plane, increase club head speed, and make sure to properly release their hands while keeping lag can help to take strokes off their game.

To understand why amateur golfers have difficulty in hitting long irons (mainly 3 and 4 irons) all you need to know is one simple rule. It is called the 24/38 rule and is well known amongst golf club makers. Basically, the rule goes like this: Most golfers do not have the ability to consistently strike the ball well with an iron of 24 degrees or less loft and 38 inches or more in length. So for most mid to high handicap golfers, they will not be able to hit consistently with a 2 thru 4 iron. It is recommended that those players use a 3 and 4 hybrid to take the place of the 3 and 4 irons and then the next club in their bag would be a 5 iron. Make sure that you purchase hybrid golf clubs that are meant to replace the 3 and 4 irons or otherwise you would have too much of a gap in distance between your clubs.

There are no standards that dictate which degree of loft an iron should have. So one manufacturer may have a 3 iron that has 22 degrees of loft while another comes out on the market stating that you can gain 5 to 7 yards by hitting their iron. Only they don’t come out directly and tell you that the loft of their 3 iron is now 20 degrees. However, here is a handy chart for those looking to convert their low loft irons with hybrid golf clubs.

Men
Hybrid Golf Club Replaces Iron
17° – 19° 2 iron
20° – 22° 3 iron
23° – 25° 4 iron

Women
Hybrid Golf Club Replaces Iron
18° – 20° 2 iron
21° – 23° 3 iron
24° – 26° 4 iron

Hybrid Golf Club Shaft

The length of a hybrid shaft is usually between that of a fairway wood and iron.

This is a hybrid golf club: and this is a hybrid golf club:

Notice the difference in look.

Depending on the manufacturer, you should have the choice of purchasing hybrid golf clubs either in a steel or graphite shaft. For high handicap golfers, graphite may increase your club head speed but on the downside this type of shaft can also reduce control. Graphite shafts also tend to come with a higher price tag. One of the unique features of hybrids is the different degrees of flex that they offer. Generally speaking, the stiffer the shaft, the more speed is needed when hitting the ball. For beginners, however, hybrids with a flexible shaft are recommended as these allow for greater distance. As players progress, they usually move to a stiffer shaft which will offer improved control.

With any golf club and especially hybrid golf clubs, I recommend trying them out in a golf store before you buy. For me it is nice to be able to try a few different manufacturers and even models of clubs in a golf simulator before making a purchase. Of course I know that more and more folks like to shop online (I’m one of them) and make their purchases from seeing good reviews. I have no problem with that. Just realize that hitting a hybrid club is more like hitting an iron than a fairway wood. If you are good with that, just do some research before buying online. And if you are like me, you might just find that hybrid golf clubs can help lower your golf score.

A Golf Travel Bag Or Golf Travel Case?

Well it had come time for another purchase. Sometimes I think I work to pay for golf. LOL. But seriously, I was kinda looking forward to this purchase because it is part of a vacation plan. I need a hard travel case for my golf clubs. Truth be told, we planned on flying and I would still like to fly to Florida but rates seem to be very high right now and with fees and sometimes carry on fees, my family might just drive to Florida. Yeah and now as I type this gas prices have gone up by 40 cents in the past week. Either way, I’ve decided that I need to protect my golf investment and get a golf travel bag, golf bag travel cover, or golf travel case for my clubs. So, I’ve done a bunch of research and thought that I would pass on what I’ve learned along the way.

Before I say anything else, I wanted to make sure that what I purchased was going to be sturdy and up to the task. Meaning, I have a piece of luggage that is breaking apart at the seams from being tossed at the airport and another one where the zipper (well the zip part) broke from being placed face down instead of on its back. I didn’t think that I purchased cheap luggage but I did want to make sure that whatever I bought to protect my golf clubs would last more than a couple of flights or more likely trips in the trunk of my car with luggage. So if the golf travel bag, golf travel case, or golf bag travel cover ends up being $20 or $200, I just want it to last and I care less whether it is a brand name.

A Look At Golf Travel Cases

Now right off the bat I should tell you that I should be partial to one particular golf travel case. That is the Plano Golf Guard Standard Case. Reason being is that I have a house about 10 miles from Plano, IL and this case is made by a company that I am familiar with, Plano Molding. Plus, it has a retail price of about $62.

Being a golf travel case (hard case), my thinking is that it will protect the clubs better than a bag might and it could work either when flying or in a crowded trunk with a bunch of luggage. The Plano golf travel case has a bunch of reviews but to be perfectly honest, a couple folks talked about cheap latching mechanisms/clasps. The case itself seems sturdy enough but that is something to keep in mind.

Now I really like the look of this case. It goes by the name
SKB 2SKB-4812WS ATA Standard Golf Travel Case

As you can see, there are rolling wheels and if you check out some of the reviews, this golf travel case is one in which others should be measured by. Of course having said that, it will set you back some $260 at the retail level, although I’ve seen the price as low as $190.

Another golf travel case that I particularly like and it received very good reviews is what is called Golf Travel Bags The Vault. .

Again, this is what I call a golf travel case rather than a bag so don’t let the name fool you. It is made for oversized drivers (I have a TaylorMade Burner Superfast myself), has heavy duty locking latches, and the wheels are recessed behind the housing. In other words, this is a quality golf travel case. The locks are what I have been told “TSA Approved”. Now you may not think that your clubs will be tossed around but please listen to this one tip. You play golf and your clubs make it around on a fertilized course. Oftentimes the fertilizer itself will attach itself to your golf bag and clubs which in turn sets off alarms that the TSA will need to inspect your clubs.

Golf Travel Bags

For a golf travel bag that comes with wheels, there aren’t too many more reasonably priced than the INTECH Golf Travel Cover with Wheels. It can be easily rolled through the airport. Just realize that this is a soft cover, so make sure to protect your clubs inside this golf travel bag in some other way. ie wrap your clubs in bubble wrap.

For my purposes, the bag above would be perfectly fine for being in the car but I would feel that it may not be up to the task if it was manhandled at the airport. Hey, just being honest here. I like flying as much as the next guy but I don’t like to see things broken.

When traveling long distances by car, I like the look of the following golf travel bag. It has a good look to it, comes in a few different colors and when found on sale, the price is right. It is called Golf Travel Bags Roadster 3.0. This golf travel bag rolls and has a nice padded top which can help to protect your club heads. There is also a pouch/compartment on the outside where you can put your golf shoes or other accessories.

Finally, here is another golf travel bag cover which owners particularly like. It is called the CaddyDaddy Golf Constrictor Golf Travel Bag Cover.

Again, it has wheels for rolling, you can purchase an optional TSA approved lock, and it is padded across the top to protect club heads. The material is strong and it will just fit your oversized clubs. This is a golf travel bag and not a case, so it will not have quite the protection that you will find with the cases. But then again look at the price and compare the Caddy Daddy Golf Co-Pilot and the Caddy Daddy Golf Constrictor at Amazon.

So Was It A Golf Travel Case or Golf Travel Bag?

Now I usually end a review by saying whether I like a particular product or not, pro’s and cons, and if I am looking at multiple products and I decide to purchase one, I’ll be sure to tell everyone which product I chose. Unfortunately I can’t do that at this very moment only because I have not decided whether we will be flying or driving on our upcoming vacation. If it were flying, I would definitely choose a golf travel case but in driving, I would be more than fine with one of the soft golf travel bags shown above. I’ll let you know which one I choose as we get closer to making that decision about our mode of travel.

Each year a new range of golf training aids hits the market. Most are takeoff’s or improvements of an existing product but in some cases you will find an original patented device. If you peruse the Golf Channel, you will see many of the newer golf training aids being advertised for a number of months before being replaced by another upcoming hot selling product. I am lucky enough to test out, review, or try some of these golf gadgets so I thought I might show a few of the golf training aids that have either made into my home, golf bag, or wish list this upcoming golf season.

Medicus Power Meter
The Medicus Power Meter measures club head speed at the point of impact with a golf ball. This is one of the golf training aids that I use on a regular basis only because it is so simple to use. Just put in the batteries, adjust your height and the length of the club you will be using, attach the Medicus Power Meter to your club as per the instructions and start swinging. I can honestly say that I’ve used the Medicus Power Meter in my backyard this winter to see progress in my club head swing speed. While most amateur men golfers swing at about 86 miles per hour, our professional counterparts are somewhere around 110 to 112 miles per hour. Increased club head speed equals increased distance with all of your golf clubs.

Swingyde Golf Swing Training Aid
This is a plastic device which costs around $35 or so. You will find a few videos on Youtube showing this product in use. This is one of those golf training aids that I originally wrote off as something that I thought was cheap and was going to break. I was wrong. I now find the Swingyde Golf Swing Training Aid as the product I reach for when my swing has gone awry. From making sure that your swing stays on plane (my issue) to creating the lag which is so important in regards to club head speed, this device will keep or get your swing on track.

Hank Haney Plane Finder

If you’ve watched the Golf Channel at all lately, you’ve seen Hank Haney with the Haney Project teaching golf to the likes of Charles Barkley, Ray Romano, Rush Limbaugh, and more recently, Bill Cowher. While not many of us can get the one on one attention from Hank Haney, you can certainly work with one of the golf training aids that he supports. The Hank Haney Plane Finder. Swinging on plane is key and is also part and parcel to having both a powerful and consistent golf swing.

Dancin Dogg Optishot Golf Simulator
One of my favorite golf training aids that I’ve used this off-season is the Dancin Dogg Optishot Golf Simulator. Feel like playing a round of golf at home? This is the product you need. Want to get a round of golf in before work in the morning? With the Optishot you can play a round in about an hour. You will need a ceiling about 8 1/2 feet tall and an area of about 10 feet around you. I recommend hitting into a net, although I’ve heard of folks using a mattress. Yes, you are really able to hit golf balls with your own clubs just like you might with the golf simulators that you find at golf stores. Plus you will get statistics showing distance, face angle, tempo and more. Just check out the image here. So if you are tired of playing computer golf games and truly want to use your own clubs to play some of the worlds top courses, look into the Dancin Dogg Optishot.

I hope that you’ve enjoyed just a few of the golf training aids that I’ve put together today at a variety of price ranges. Sure, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the great golf gps devices that are out on the market today as well as the new clubs and balls that come out each and every year. But that is another day…

Medicus Power Meter Review

Just ordered the Medicus Power Meter a couple of days ago and looking forwarding to testing this product on a number of my clubs, including my 20 year old driver, a cheapy 460cc driver that was purchased 3 years ago from a big box store, and a Taylormade Burner Superfast driver just purchased a few months ago. Test to come within the week.

Click Here to check out the Medicus Power Meter.

Update: 2/13/12

My hope was that by now I would have some sort of video up and running which would show me demonstrating how to use the Medicus Power Meter by now. I’ve had the product for about a week now but the weather has not been cooperating in regards to me shooting a video outside. However, I did have a chance to use the Medicus Power Meter and can report my results, including some do’s and dont’s.

When you first open the package, you will note that there are two included batteries. Woohoo. I can’t stand it when you buy something and then have to go head off to the store to find the right batteries. I had to find one of the eyeglass screw removers around my house to remove the 2 screws on the back of the Medicus Power Meter. Hopefully you will have a screwdriver which can remove small Phillips screws. One minute later and the batteries were installed and the screws were back in place.

I followed the directions and held down both buttons until the unit turned on. It immediately wanted me to enter my height. Now I am a very small guy and thought I might run into a problem here because I am only 5’0″ tall. Luckily the Medicus Power Meter let me enter 60 (for inches) and I was good to go. Once the height was set, the unit toggled over to let me enter the club length.

Now there is a handy chart included with the Medicus Power Meter which shows the standard length of various clubs. I knew that I wanted to go full out and use my driver and that this older 20 year old driver was 45″. I then attached the product with the word “grip” just under the grip and the word “club” on the opposite end.

Medicus Power Meter Review Video

My initial thought was that hey, I just purchased a new driver all of a few months ago in part because the weight was so much less than this 20 year old driver. I wonder if the additional weight of this power meter is going to slow down my swing? Having said that, I think I’m making a big deal of nothing because this golf gadget can’t weigh more than a couple of ounces.

I headed outside in the 22 degree (fahrenheit) weather and started swinging away as
I was warming up. I noted that I was swinging initially at 70.9 miles per hour and this increased to 76.2 mph and eventually 80.6 mph with my old driver. I ran back inside because I was freezing and I wanted to change over to a cheapy 460cc driver ($30 at a big box store) that I purchased about 2 years ago. This driver was slightly larger than my old driver so I needed to change the club length adjustment on the Medicus Power Meter to 46 inches. It took me all of 10 seconds to make this adjustment and maybe 30 seconds to remove the device from one club to another.

Another step outside and a couple of swings had me matching the 80.6 that I put up with my old driver. I hit 82.0 mph and then decided that I’d put a little oomph into my swing. Hmmm. That is funny. My mph actually went down. A few more swings that were about the same yielded the same results. When it finally hit me that I needed to work on my tempo rather than swinging my arms faster, I jumped up to 86 mph.

One final jaunt inside for my new Taylormade Burner Superfast driver which I purchased just a few months ago. I wasn’t really sure whether I should change the length on the Medicus Power Meter to 47″ for this driver as it was slightly longer than my last driver that I swung but I believe the length is 46.5 inches, instead of 47 inches, so for the purpose of this Medicus Power Meter Review, I decided to keep the length of the driver at 46 inches. After changing the device over to the new driver, some hot milk, and a few minutes of warming up, I headed outside again. I truly wish I could have captured all this on video because with the ice and snow on the ground, it must have been a site to see behold as I was swinging away as if I was practicing my golf game in the dead of winter.

Medicus Power Meter Review Final Thoughts

Make sure that you read the directions and use the Medicus Power Meter as it is meant to be used. By that, I found out after the fact that I should have actually been hitting golf balls right from the start. The Medicus Power Meter is setup so that it should give its club head
speed number when the ball is struck. There are some other club head speed monitors on the market which will give you club head speed but they are not setup for the exact moment when there is impact with the ball. So, with these other radar or power meters,
they may show a club head speed number which does not reflect the moment of impact. Meaning it may show a maximum mile per hour number that came from moments before or after what would have been the impact with the ball. In other words, not the number that you need to know to more accurately know your swing speed. Having said that, it is one of the reasons why I think that the Medicus Power Meter is more accurate than some of the other units out on the market.

If I had any negatives to say about this device it would be that you have to adjust the club length as you change clubs. When I was hitting inside the dome and did not bring the directions with me to change the club length, when I switched to hitting a 5 iron I couldn’t remember the length of that club. Plus my old clubs were chopped about an inch because of my height.

The other thing is that I let my brother use the device and we had to remember (after the fact) to adjust the height on the Medicus Power Meter to reflect that he is 7 inches taller than I am. All I’m getting at is that I wish (yeah I’m asking for the world) that these inputs were not manual.

I was jazzed that the Medicus Power Meter came with batteries. One less thing to worry about. Setup was easier than I had imagined. You literally could have this out of the box, batteries installed, height and length input, attached to your club and testing out your club head speed in a matter of 15 minutes or so. Remember that this is setup to hit a ball.
Accuracy seemed to be right on the mark. The last time I tested was in a golf simulator and tested the driver that I purchased, I reached a maximum of 93 mph. After not touching a golf club for a little while this winter and reminding myself that tempo and having your body in sync outweighs trying to muscle the ball by swinging your arms too fast, I had a consistent club head speed of between 92 and just over 93 mph using the Medicus Power Meter. To me, the results speak for themselves.

At under $80 over at Amazon, I am very happy that I purchased this product and minus my couple of negatives posted above, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Medicus Power Meter to any golfer who is serious about improving his or her game. I hope you enjoyed my Medicus Power Meter Review and if you would like any other products reviewed, just give me a hollar.

Dancin Dogg OptiShot Infrared Golf Simulator

A few short weeks ago I went to the one of the local golf stores to try some clubs on their golf simulator. Actually, I was trying to gauge my club head speed as it related to the different brands of clubs that I was trying. I walked away without purchasing anything (can you say willpower) but I do enjoy seeing the immediate feedback of my swing, especially as we can’t exactly get out to the golf course with snow on the ground in the midwest. A few days later I heard that we had a new place in town where you could play (indoors) a bunch of different courses. Not only that, you could grab a pizza and a beer while playing. I headed over there to take a look and was flabbergasted that the price to play indoors approached what I pay to play on an outdoor course. Sure, I suppose I have no choice when it is 5 degrees outside with 15 mile per hour winds, but c’mon, give a guy a break.

Enter the Dancin Dogg Optishot
I first saw the Optishot on TV and knowing that I had seen other golf simulators for well over $1000, I immediately turned off the infomercial. Well that was until I watched the 2012 PGA Merchandise Show on the Golf Channel. A bunch of cool looking new products and a gentleman telling us that the Dancin Dogg Optishot Golf Simulator is affordable. What?

Well, looking at that price, the Dancin Dogg Optishot Golf Simulator is close to the price of some of the drivers that I hit the other day. Seriously. At just under $400 it puts the price in reach of most golfers looking to improve their game.

Dancin Dogg OptiShot Infrared Golf Simulator Setup

So now that you’ve seen the Optishot video, lets get some insight on how we can get one up and running in our home. First of all, you will need a Windows computer that has either Vista, Windows XP, or Windows 7. In addition, the computer will need at least 2 GB or memory and 3 GB of hard disk space. You will also need a high end graphics card with a minimum of 256 MB of ram. Install the software and plug the optical swing pad into your computer. Beyond that, you will need 8 1/2 foot ceiling height, an area that is about 10 feet by 10 feet and your golf clubs. The Dancin Dogg OptiShot Golf Simulator only works indoors. Meaning if you have the intention to use it outdoors and there was not sufficient lighting or shadows were over the sensors, this product will not work. You can use either normal golf balls, foam golf balls, or play without golf balls.

The Dancin Dogg Optishot Golf Simulator lets you play some of the worlds top courses.
Barseback Golf & Country Club – home of the Scandanavian Masters
Black Mountain Golf Club – premier course in Thailand
Canadian Club Golf Course – a replication of a course in St George, Canada

There are also some additional premium courses available.

Both left handed and right handed players can use the Dancin Dogg Optishot and it allows for up to 4 players at a time. You can hit every shot from the tee to the green or put putting on auto. Maybe best of all, you can just keep practicing. Use the driving range with 6 different greens that range from 60 to 300 yards.

Here is the feedback that you will receive while playing with the Optishot Golf Simulator.

Club head speed

Face angle

Path (swing)

Tempo

Face contact

Watch your ball fly

If you think that you will soon get bored in using the Dancin Dogg Optishot, think again. You will have nature sounds, the ability to control the speed of the green, weather customization, custom club sets, able to track stats and so much more!

Don’t have enough space to use your driver? The Optishot Golf Simulator lets you use par 3 tee’s if needed. Sound interesting? Just CLICK HERE to order from Amazon.

Tips:
You can use your other training aids such as the Swingyde Golf Swing Training Aid to see how that works in conjunction with the Dancin Dogg Optishot Golf Simulator.

Make sure that you either use the included foam balls or a regular golf ball. When swinging at a non-existent golf ball, the settings just don’t seem to work as well.

Get a decent mat to stand on and level out your stance.

Setup either a bed sheet or a net to hit into.

Hook up your computer to your HDTV and see the action in a larger format.

Final Thoughts On The Dancin Dogg OptiShot Infrared Golf Simulator

After looking at units which were well over $1000, the Dancin Dogg Optishot at less than half that price is a no brainer. It lets you practice, virtually play golf, and get feedback immediately. If you have an 18 handicap out on the course, you should have the same with the Optishot. Initial setup can be done in less than an hour and if you want to further calibrate your clubs to get the most accurate distances, you can have that accomplished within half an hour. Let me add further to that. Some folks have mentioned that something is wrong with this product because the distance they see when using the Optishot Golf Simulator is off as compared to how they hit on the course. Again, all should be fine if you take the time to calibrate your club sets. Make sure that your computer has plenty of speed. It runs best on a computer with speed, RAM, and a good graphics card.

I particularly like being able to virtually drop the ball in the fairway some 80 yards from the green and hit a dozen shots. Then I move the ball back 10 to 12 yards at a time to go through my short irons all the way to my 3 iron. I take note of how my face angle or tempo may change through the irons. For instance, it was ingrained in me that I had to swing my 3 and 4 iron much harder than my 9 iron or pitching wedge. I could see this within the tempo of my short irons and driver. When I decided to scale back and work on a better tempo, I not only hit the ball more accurately but my scores came down as well. I use the balls that came with the Dancin Dogg Optishot but every now and then I like the feel of hitting a real ball, so a quick switch every few rounds is no problem. A round of golf can be played in approximately 30 minutes

Today I have the choice of going out and hitting some balls inside a dome at $8 for a medium bucket. I really have no idea if I’m slicing the ball or hitting my 6 iron 120 yards or 165 yards because the golf ball can only go so far. My 2nd choice is to head over to the indoor golf course. Sure you are playing with a simulator but at $29 per round (not counting pizza and a drink), that is an expensive proposition. So, today I think I’ll stay at home, head down to the basement and play a round with my Dancin Dogg Optishot Golf Simulator.

Garmin Golf Watch

If you just turn on the TV to watch some golf, you can see a number of new golf gadgets which hit the market on a nearly weekly basis. Most are being advertised by one or more paid professionals simply as a marketing stunt. I’m not sure if you’ve noticed but there are a new set of products that have been all the rage on the golf course. A while back, someone came up with the great idea of combining golf and GPS. Most of the products look like binoculars and I have to admit that they work quite well. The one caveat is that some of these devices require a membership fee which is why you sometimes see bad reviews on these products. What I’m talking about today has to do with golf and GPS and a watch.

Enter the Garmin Golf Watch

It used to be that a watch would simply tell time. Then we had watches that included a stop watch with intervals and just in case you felt like diving into the bottom of the nearest lake, because some of them are waterproof, you didn’t need to take your watch off. How cool (or useless) is that? I guess it is good if you want to take a shower or bath with your watch on. Enter 2012 and the Garmin Golf Watch. To be more precise, the picture on the left shows the Garmin Approach S1W GPS Watch while the picture on the right is the Garmin Approach S1.

Now what makes a golf watch tick? How about a watch with a built in GPS system and a whole bunch of courses preset into the watch. The Garmin Golf Watch is the first of its kind and only make of a golf watch to my knowledge as of the end of January 2012. This cool looking product comes pre loaded with 14,000 courses and will let you know how far you have to the front, middle, and back of the green. So, if you are clueless like me and think that the white marker means that you are at the 150 yard mark, just have a quick look at your wrist and you will know whether you should be pulling out your 7 iron or 6 iron (or whatever works for you). Because you may have 150 yards to the front of the green and 165 yards to the rear, which is where the pin currently sits.

Now I’m a small guy. So what I like best of all about the Garmin Golf Watch is that it is a lightweight watch that is not overly bulky.

Garmin Golf Watch Features:

USGA and R&A compliant (legal under the Rules of Golf)

No need for downloads or subscriptions

Distance to the front, back, and middle of the green

Pre-loaded with 14,000 U.S. and Canadian golf courses

Measure individual shot distances

Track how far you walk the course

Functions just like a normal watch

Alarm to wake you up in the morning

Rechargeable lithium ion battery lasts up to 8 hours in GPS mode and 3 weeks in watch mode

Now I’m a golf gadgets geeky kinda guy. I wasn’t that way just a short time ago and I’m far from being a teenager. Being such, I really like the Garmin Golf Watch and the Garmin Approach S1 (the black watch) is my favorite. Having said that, it is my opinion that there are better products on the market but they do not come in the form of a watch. For instance, if you want a more all around device, I recommend checking out the Garmin Approach G5.

What you will find are maps of the courses, a digital scorecard, and a more accurate reading (up to the pin) on yardage. Here is a picture of the Garmin Approach G5. This product did get very good ratings and just like the Garmin Golf Watch, you do not need a subscription (no monthly payment). I particularly like seeing the course on the screen. Of course you will have to put out a few more dollars for this device but most users give it the thumbs up!

Another product worth checking out is is the Bushnell Hybrid Pinseeker.

With 16,000 pre loaded courses and no membership fees, Pinseeker technology allows for + or – one yard accuracy when looking at the pin. I regard this as one of the finest GPS/Laser products on the market today, mainly because you get as close to exact distances as I’ve seen in a golf gps unit.

Final Thoughts:

Every product has its pros and cons and the Garmin Golf Watch is no exception. If you take a look at the products above, you may say that their benefits look pretty sweet in that you can either see the course on a screen or nail down distance right to the pin. I can’t disagree with that. However in-so-far as ease of use and convenience is concerned, nothing beats simply looking at your wrist with the Garmin Golf Watch.

Momentus Speed Whoosh Golf Trainer

You’ve most likely seen it on TV or heard about it about it through your friends. The Momentus Speed Whoosh Golf Trainer is gaining more and more attention. Why? Because if you believe what Momentus is saying about the Speed Whoosh, it can increase your golf swing speed. Those of us that have been around long enough, know that increased swing speed equals increased yardage. Usually in the neighborhood of 2.5 to 3 yards for every 1 mile per hour increase or decrease in swing speed.

Average PGA Tour Club Head Speed = 100 M.P.H.

Average Golfers Club Head Speed = 80 M.P.H.

Momentus Speed Whoosh Swing Trainer Video

The thought behind the Speed Whoosh is that your body is made up of both slow twitch and fast twitch muscle fibers. If you continue to do what you’ve always done with your golf game, your slow twitch muscle fibers will continue to fire as they’ve always done but your fast twitch fibers will stay relatively dormant. So, read the directions and then grab onto the Momentus Speed Whoosh Golf Trainer. My recommendation is to swing like you would normally swing with the exception of not striking the ground on your downswing. If you were to look at your golf swing speed with a device such as the Medicus Power Meter and do a before with your normal swing (using your driver) and follow that up with a half dozen swings or so with the Speed Whoosh, you should notice an increase in swing speed up to 20 mph and beyond with the Speed Whoosh as compared to your driver. With the increase in clubhead speed by using the Speed Whoosh, your fast twitch muscle fibers start firing. Now if you were to pick up your driver and do an after swing, you should pick up 7-10 mph over your previous result with your same driver. With the same conditions (temp, wind, etc…) you should see an increase of 21-30 yards in your drives.

What I like about the Speed Whoosh is the sound that you get (whoosh) as you are swinging the club. Another added benefit is that you are able to work on the lag in your swing. This is something that is a definite bonus for me because I found that I was releasing my wrists and hands way too soon. To test this, you put the magnetic timing ball just past the grip on the Speed Whoosh and make your normal swing. If the ball hits the end of the shaft before you’ve hit the bottom of your downswing, you are releasing (un-cocking) your wrists/hands too early. This immediate feedback is what told me that I did not have enough lag in my swing. After a dozen or so swings (and continued practice), I can now feel the magnetic ball hit the end of the shaft at the bottom of my downswing. Woohoo. Mission accomplished thanks to the Momentus Speed Whoosh.

I’ve just gotten back into golf after a relatively long layoff. Yes, I play each year but not enough lately to make any improvement in my game. This past year the passion returned for me and I’ve purchased a bunch of golf gadgets that both make the game of golf easier and will hopefully improve my game. Yes, upgrading from a 20+ year old set of clubs is a tremendous bonus in and of itself. I added 20-30 yards to my drive with just a change in my driver. Now, truth be told I do not have a device that measures clubhead speed at home. I’m looking into both the Medicus Power Meter and Sports Sensors Swing Speed Radar at the present moment and am open to any suggestions. Having said that, I am unable to measure before and after speed in my Momentus Speed Whoosh review. However I do feel an increase in swing speed. Hopefully I’ll be able to substantiate that soon.

Final Thoughts: Momentus Speed Whoosh Golf Swing Trainer

Although the Speed Whoosh weighs approximately the same as my current driver, I find that it is much easier for me to warm up by using this device instead of using my driver. Now, you are not going to fix a duck hook or slice just by practicing with the Speed Whoosh. However you can do what this product was intended for. That is to increase your clubhead speed for increased yardage on the course and work on your point of release (lag) which comes from the timing of your golf swing. Talking about the lag, I found that if I actually slowed down my swing and worked on my tempo while using the Speed Whoosh, I could get the clicking noise of the magnetic ball at the bottom of my swing. Then, I gradually worked on speeding up my swing while maintaining that same lag. My only caveat is to not hit the ground (hard) with the Speed Whoosh as I could see that causing potential problems in the longevity of this device. Overall, I think the Momentus Speed Whoosh Golf Swing Trainer is a great product that can help beginner and intermediate golfers alike.

The Speed Whoosh works 2 ways: 1) It increases club head speed, resulting in more distance & 2) The proprietary Magnetic Timing Ball improves timing. The Speed Whoosh is a revolutionary club head speed accelerator that activates the fast twitch

Today I’m bringing you a review of the Swingyde Golf Swing Training Aid.
Here is what it looks like.

Ok… first a little background. I’m not quite sure why but just last year I re-developed a passion for golf. I started playing golf at the age of 12, worked at a golf course in my teens, took lessons years and years ago, and I’ve played in a yearly tournament (amongst a group of friends) for about the past 25 years. The problem being is that for whatever reason, over the past 20 years I usually go to the range once or twice a year and then play in that tournament. I mean no trips to the golf course otherwise. For whatever reason I was blessed with being very coordinated and I’ve won that tournament 3 times over the past dozen years. I was happy with my golf play so I saw no reason to step up my game by practicing or playing throughout the year. That is until this past year. In that same tournament I shot what was perhaps my worst round in the past 20 years. I don’t like doing anything poorly but maybe what bothered me most is that I was still swinging 20+ year old clubs that were rusting and hitting balls that most likely came out of the bottom of a lake while my friends were showing off their latest drivers and was hitting clubs that were rusting, yet I had this So, to make a long story short, I’ve spent more money in the past year on my golf game with golf gadgets, videos, balls, ebooks, books, and clubs than I have in the past 20 years combined.

So, today I would like to share my thoughts on the Swingyde Golf Swing Training Aid.
When I first took a look at this device from the pictures, I thought it would somehow break my wrist/forearm or snap off when I swung my club. However I knew that I needed something that would train me to keep my hands back and not get ahead of the ball. For whatever reason (mostly lack of practice), I had developed virtually no lag in my swing. In layman’s terms what that meant is that after many years, I was oblivious that my club swing head speed went from over 100 mph to 83 to 86 mph. What I did know was that where I once blasted 270+ yard drives when I hit the ball well, I was now averaging 200 yards after the roll. A quick trip to Golf Galaxy, swinging Swinging in front of the I was told that my wrists were cocking/releasing and by the time the club head got to the ball, I was losing inertia/power. Bottom line is that it meant my drives went from averaging 250+ to 200 yards. Something had to change. So, it was recommended that I check out the Swingyde Golf Swing Training Aid.

Mike Bender and the Swingyde Golf Swing Training Aid

Some people (mainly the younger crowd) have a problem with overswinging. I used to be one of those golfers. My thought was that the longer the backswing, the more arc and thus speed I would have in the downswing. By overswinging, our hands and wrists get out of position, so our club is out of position as well. They we need to correct this on the downswing which causes all sorts of problems. The Swingyde Golf Swing Training Aid will let you know if you belong to this group and when you should stop your backswing. I’m happy to say that this is one of the faults that I corrected.

I was not so concerned with my follow through although I know that it is an intricate part of the golf swing. Swingyde will help you with your follow and if you keep it in contact with your forearm, you know that you are on the right path.

Here is how the Swingyde Golf Swing Training Aid helped me. As mentioned before, my swing had become undone and I was releasing my wrists and hands too quickly in my downswing. Before anything I watched the DVD to get an understanding of how a proper looking swing should look. I then grabbed a flip video camera and recorded my swing. I wanted to see what my “before” swing looked like and if there was a change in my “after” swing. Upon first look of my video, I noticed immediately that I was sometimes overswinging, almost always going off plane, and releasing my hands too soon. Within an hour of watching Jim Flick, re-watching the video and swinging in my backyard, I had a much better looking swing. I’m not going to say that everything was fixed in a matter of an hour but now that we are in the midst of our bad weather here, I am doing my best to practice 10-20 minutes with the Swingyde Golf Swing Training Aid and when April comes around (or warm weather in March), I can’t wait to try my new swing on the course. This week I am headed for the dome with the Swingyde to see how I am coming into contact with the ball and to see if my swing remains the same both with and without the device. If I had anything negative at all to say it is that the Swingyde is a tad bit flimsy. However its positives far outweigh that negative and unless you can get a golf lesson for $35 that will stick and stay with you, this will be the best $35 that you will ever spend on a golf gadget. Oh, one other thing. I initially put the Swingyde Golf Swing Training Aid on my 5 iron and was strictly practicing with that. I recommend that you transfer it to several clubs because some of us develop a habit of swinging our driver differently than our 3 iron and altogether differently than our pitching wedge. Make sure you use this to keep your swing consistent throughout your clubs.

My final thoughts regarding the Swingyde Golf Swing Training Aid
I firmly believe that this will be the best $35 (I got mine cheaper on Amazon) that you could ever spend on your golf swing unless you can get some sort of Groupon deal on golf lessons. Although I’ve only had a few hours of testing this product, I can already see how it has helped my swing (before and after video) and know that I will be able to transfer that swing to the course when the new golf season starts. Do yourself a favor and pick up the Swingyde Swing Training Aid.

GOLF GADGETS

When I started playing golf in my teens, there were no so-called golf gadgets to be found. Sure, at that time you may have found a smaller golf ball that was available that was supposed to be illegal and give you new found distance but otherwise you just grabbed your clubs, golf bag, golf shoes, some golf balls (which may have come out of a lake), tees, card , and pencil and you were good to go. In fact, you didn’t use a golf cart or pull the clubs behind you. You actually got exercise by hefting the clubs and golf bag on your shoulder. Oh… the good old days.

Today, golf gadgets seem to be the in thing. You have frictionless golf tees, tees which allow you to miss the dimple when hitting the ball, golf balls which are made from 3 parts and balls which have double dimples or should I say dimples inside dimples (yeah… I just picked up some of those). When you hit the ball in the rough you can put on some special glasses which helps to block out the grass and make the ball stand out. Heck, at the cost of a dozen golf balls now-a-days, we could all use a little help in finding those errant shots.

I get a kick out of technology and one of the golf gadgets that I particularly like is a unit that uses GPS/Pinseeker to let you know how far you are away from the pin. So, I can pull out this device and see that I am 168 yards from the pin. Pull out the trusty 6 iron and let it fly. I mean just take a look at this product. How cool is that?

At the top of this page you see a neat device called the Swingyde Golf Swing Training Aid. It got such good reviews that I just had to have one. Basically, it lets you know when your arms are in the right position, how to know if you are creating the correct lag, and then if you have a good follow through. At the price, this is one of the golf gadgets that made its way into my car and I use it while practicing inside at the dome these days. I put up my view of the Swingyde Golf Swing Training Aid.

Golf Gadgets To Increase Your Club Head Speed

Whoosh. That is the sound that you hear on the golf range when you are next to a guy who is has a 110 mph club head speed. I was at the range with one of my buddies a some years ago (before getting back into golf) and it was my goal to roll up and hit the fence some 250 yards away. It was my friends goal to fly over this 50 foot high fence on the fly. When he hit the ball well you could hear the sound of his club knife through the air. Today you can buy an item that will help you get increased yardage by activating your fast twitch muscle fibers and when you swing the Momentus Speed Whoosh, you will hear it whoosh through the air. If applied properly, when you using the Speed Whoosh, you will be swinging the device 20 yards faster than your own driver. If all works well, that should translate to an extra 20-30 yards with your driver on the golf course.

Golf Gadgets To Measure Club Head Speed

Now you may know that you are not hitting the ball quite as far as you used to but until you measure your club head speed, how do you know where your baseline is at? Well, it is definitely not an exact science but when using a driver, you will get approximately 2.5 to 3 yards per 1 mile per hour that you swing the club. But swinging the club harder does not always mean that you will hit the ball further. In fact, you are better if you get your tempo and lag going correctly on your golf swing rather than just attempting to swing hard. A good starting point is to use one of the golf gadgets that lets you know your club head speed.

Need to swing on plane? There’s a golf gadget for it. Need to figure out how far to stand from the ball, correct alignment, and foot distance from the ball? There’s a golf gadget for it. How about a putting mat, a net to hit balls into, a trunk organizer? Yes, these are just a few of the golf gadgets that might soon help you enjoy the game of golf that much more!
